Custom work starts with your idea — a drawing, a memory, a budget and a few practical requirements — and becomes a piece built specifically for you, from initial wax design through to finished metal.
I also love learning a little about you along the way — your favourite colours, a stone you’re drawn to, even your birth month — since these small, personal details often shape a design more than a brief alone ever could.
A drawing, a memory, a photo, or just a feeling you want the piece to hold.
Choosing stones that fit the idea, your budget and how the piece will be worn.
A small deposit secures your commitment, then an initial wax design is shared for your approval.
Before I begin your initial wax design, a $100 deposit secures your commitment to the project. It’s non-refundable, covering the effort already spent by that point (sourcing gemstones, talking through ideas, and creating that first wax design), and it goes toward the final price of your piece. It also means we both know the project is genuinely moving forward.
You sign off on the design and quote before anything is made.
Once refined, I’ll ask for your final approval before the wax design is cast.
The wax piece is cast into your chosen precious metal.
Filing, polishing and finishing, entirely by hand.
Gemstones are set by hand, securely into the finished metal.
A piece that started as your idea, now wearable.
Your piece is made just for you. I keep the right to explore similar design ideas in future work, but I’ll never recreate your piece or anything personal to it. Exclusivity is available on request.
I may share photos of your finished piece on my website and Instagram (never your personal details). If you’d like it kept private, or it’s a surprise, just let me know. Read the full terms.
Many commissions start with a stone rather than a finished idea. Have a look through what I currently have on hand — if one speaks to you, we can build something around it.

Suzie came to me with a brief: practical requirements and a budget, rather than a finished design. That’s the other version of this process — someone hands me the constraints, and I work creatively within them to design something they wouldn’t have arrived at on their own.

This customer brought me her own drawing of a cross — a design that already meant something to her. My job was to translate that drawing, as closely as possible, into a wearable, handcrafted object. It’s one of the clearest examples of what this collaboration can look like: I’m not designing from scratch, I’m interpreting.

The maker was wonderful to work with, listening to my specifications, helping me choose the perfect stone, and creating a piece that feels truly personal.
Every custom piece starts with a conversation, not a commitment. Tell me what you’re thinking and we’ll go from there.
